Analysis of Research Report on New Sector of Future Industry (6)

In the context of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and accelerated evolution of industrial transformation, the low-altitude economy and clean hydrogen are becoming the key sectors leading high-quality development, showing strong industrial momentum and broad market prospects. These two fields not only represent an important direction of new quality productivity, but also reflect the strategic layout of countries around the world in green transformation and intelligent manufacturing.

Sector 6: Low-altitude economy A new engine that activates airspace resources

Low-altitude economy is a new comprehensive industrial form that relies on low-altitude airspace resources and takes flight activities as the core, covering aircraft manufacturing, ground facility construction, flight operation and support services, as well as diversified application scenarios. At present, the low-altitude economy is accelerating into the fast lane of development and has become an important engine for the integrated development of related industries.

New aircraft, represented by electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) and unmanned aerial vehicles, are leading the direction of electrification, intelligence and unmanned low-altitude technology. Focusing on the continuous expansion of application scenarios such as "low-altitude + logistics", "low-altitude + agriculture", "low-altitude + inspection" and "low-altitude + cultural tourism", it is also constantly stimulating new consumption potential and service demand, and promoting the low-altitude economy from "concept" to "application".

Globally, major countries and regions have accelerated the layout of low-altitude industries:

1.                Through forward-looking planning and infrastructure construction, the United States has taken the lead in low-altitude economic development;

2.                Europe emphasizes the combination of standardization and diversified development to form a low-altitude ecosystem covering a wide range;

3.                With the strategic transformation of the aviation manufacturing industry and the advantages of regional agglomeration, Japan has promoted the innovation and upgrading of the low-altitude economy;

4.                Brazil takes market orientation as the core and focuses on the differentiated development of the general aviation regional market.

China's low-altitude economy is in a critical leap period, the low-altitude infrastructure and service guarantee system are becoming more and more perfect, and the construction of industrial ecology is accelerating. Many ministries and commissions and local governments have intensively introduced more than 100 industrial support policies, creating a good development environment and providing solid support for the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy.

Sector 7: Clean Hydrogen Strategic support for the transformation of energy structure

Clean hydrogen is regarded as an important component of the future energy system, with outstanding advantages such as zero carbon emissions and wide range of applications. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), clean hydrogen includes green hydrogen made from water electrolysis from renewable energy sources, and blue hydrogen produced by combining natural gas with carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.

At present, the technical path of the clean hydrogen industry has become increasingly clear, covering four major technical routes: alkaline electrolysis (ALK), proton exchange membrane electrolysis (PEM), solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) and anion exchange membrane (AEM). Among them, alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production has become the mainstream choice of green hydrogen projects in China due to its low cost and mature process.

According to the data, in 2023, the shipment of alkaline electrolyzers in China's market will account for more than 95%, and the number of related product research and development and enterprises will grow rapidly, and it will still maintain its dominant position in the next 10-20 years. At the same time, upstream and downstream links such as fuel cell systems, stacks, membrane electrodes, catalysts, and proton exchange membranes have also shown high financing enthusiasm and become the focus of capital attention.

According to the IEA's latest "2024 Global Hydrogen Energy Market Report", China is expected to occupy nearly 70% of the global market share in the installed capacity of renewable energy hydrogen electrolyzers, showing strong development potential. According to Bloomberg data, by 2030, the United States, Europe and China will collectively account for 80% of the global market share of clean hydrogen production, forming a three-pole pattern of the global hydrogen energy industry.

Conclusion

Low-altitude economy and clean hydrogen, which represent the frontier fields of the modern industrial system with "new aerial scenarios" and "new energy kinetic energy" respectively, are accelerating from exploration to implementation, from policy promotion to market driven. In the future, the two will play an increasingly important role in the construction of new quality productivity, injecting surging impetus into China's high-quality development and "dual carbon" goals.
