Lenovo Brought Its Latest Ideas to MWC 2025

At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Lenovo unveiled a series of eye-catching concept laptops that showcase Lenovo's insights into the future of mobile computing and provide new ideas for the industry's direction.

Yoga Solar PC Concept:The green choice for solar charging

Lenovo's Yoga Solar PC Concept has attracted a lot of attention with its unique solar charging feature. The notebook's clever nesting of solar panels into the lid converts more than 24% of solar energy into electricity, an efficient energy conversion rate thanks to its "Back Contact Cell" technology, which maximizes energy absorption efficiency by moving the mounting bracket and grid lines to the back of the solar cell. Its advanced dynamic solar tracking system is able to measure the current and voltage of the solar panels in real-time and works in tandem with the solar-first energy system to automatically adjust the charger settings and prioritize the transfer of collected energy into the system, ensuring maximum energy savings and system stability at different light intensities. Even in low-light environments, solar panels can generate electricity to maintain battery power for computers when they are not in use.

In terms of performance configuration, the Yoga Solar PC Concept also excels. It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor (exact model has not yet been announced), can be equipped with up to 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, a 50.2WHr battery, and a 14-inch OLED screen, which can meet the diverse needs of users in mobile office and entertainment. In addition, Lenovo has introduced the Yoga Solar Charging Kit, which contains a solar panel with a USB Type-C port to store the power in a power bank for subsequent use on the laptop. The solar panels are detachable and can be easily attached to backpacks, tents, or trees, allowing them to charge the power bank anytime and anywhere as long as there is sunlight, providing users with a more flexible and convenient charging solution.

ThinkBook Codename Flip:A new business experience with a large foldable screen

For business users, Lenovo's ThinkBook Codename Flip concept notebook is undoubtedly an attractive and innovative product. The notebook is equipped with an 18.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2000×2664, a 3:4 aspect ratio, a dual-hinge design, a foldable screen, and five different usage modes, including tablet mode, reading mode, notebook mode, sharing mode, and vertical mode, which can meet the diverse needs of users in different scenarios.

In terms of hardware configuration, the ThinkBook Codename Flip is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x memory, and an unspecified amount of PCIe SSD storage, and its body size is comparable to that of a 13-inch notebook, as the rest of the screen can be folded out, which makes it strike a good balance between portability and a large screen experience. Lenovo has been committed to the development and application of flexible OLED displays in recent years, and at CES 2025, Lenovo launched a laptop with a rollable screen, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, and the successful launch of this product also laid a solid foundation for the future development of the ThinkBook Codename Flip.

ThinkBook 3D Laptop and AI Ring:The fusion of 3D display and intelligent interaction

On the road to pursuing a visual experience, Lenovo's ThinkBook 3D Laptop concept notebook is once again at the forefront. This notebook features "directional backlight" technology, which enables easy switching between 2D and 3D displays, with a resolution of 3200×2000, which is mainly aimed at business and creative professionals. With this innovative display technology, users can get a more immersive visual experience when working on complex 3D models and graphic design tasks, while also enjoying high-quality 2D displays in everyday office and entertainment scenarios.

To further enhance the user's interactive experience, Lenovo has also equipped this notebook with a smart accessory called "AI Ring". AI Ring supports touchless navigation and 3D model adjustment, allowing users to control the laptop with simple gestures for a more convenient and efficient operating experience. While traditional keyboards and trackpads still have an irreplaceable place on laptops, the emergence of AI Ring undoubtedly provides a whole new possibility for the way notebooks interact in the future.

Magic Bay Concepts:The possibilities are endless to expand the capabilities of your notebook

In addition to the above concept notebooks, Lenovo has also designed a series of concept accessories for the "Magic Bay" port of the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 (a notebook that will not be sold in the North American market), which further expand the functional boundaries of the notebook and bring users a richer user experience.

Among them, the multi-screen expansion accessories are particularly eye-catching. An expansion accessory with two 13.3-inch secondary screens turns the ThinkBook into a three-screen workstation, providing more room for multitasking and professional creation. Another small 8-inch display extension can be used to display important information and messaging apps, or as a dedicated AI dashboard that allows users to access key information more intuitively.

Conclusion

From solar charging technology to foldable large screens, from the integration of 3D display and intelligent interaction to the infinite expansion of notebook functions, these concept products allow us to see the multiple possibilities of future mobile computing devices. While these products are still in the concept stage, with no specific price or availability yet to be announced, they have undoubtedly painted a picture of a future laptop world full of innovation and surprises. We look forward to bringing these concept products to the market as soon as possible, bringing users a more convenient, efficient and personalized experience."
