From April 24 to 26, 2025, the Fair Plus 2025 Robot Industry Ecosystem Expo was held grandly at the Shenzhen Futian Convention and Exhibition Center. The event brought together leading enterprises and cutting-edge innovations from across the robot industry value chain, showcasing the latest developments in humanoid robots, industrial automation, service robotics, and more. Among the standout participants was Digit Huaxia (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd., an innovative company deeply engaged in the development of humanoid robots. The company attracted wide attention with the debut of its emotionally intelligent humanoid robot—“Xia Lan.”
During the event, Lu Chen, Editor-in-Chief of China Exportsemi, had the opportunity to interview Ms. Xiaonan Chen, Senior Public Relations Officer at Digit Huaxia. She shared insights into the company’s development philosophy, featured products, core technologies, and strategic roadmap for the future.

From Full-System Design to Emotional Interaction: Pioneering Scalable AGI Robots
“We are a company dedicated to the full-process R&D and manufacturing of humanoid robots—from design and development to production and sales—all handled in-house by our team,” Chen began by clearly outlining the company's core capabilities. “Our mission is to drive the large-scale commercialization of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) humanoid robots, creating emotionally intelligent machines that feel genuinely human.”
The company’s brand slogan—"Creating Humanoid Robots with Warmth"—is more than just a catchphrase. Unlike traditional service or industrial robots, warmth implies a deeper emotional connection with users. By embedding capabilities such as emotion recognition, facial expression feedback, and personalized interaction, Digit Huaxia aims to bring empathy and humanity into sectors such as education, cultural tourism, and elder care.
Introducing “Xia Lan”: A Culturally Inspired Emotionally Responsive Robot
At the exhibition, Digit Huaxia unveiled its signature product—“Xia Lan,” a humanoid robot distinguished by its elegant design, high emotional intelligence, and cognitive capabilities. With a gentle and approachable appearance, Xia Lan seamlessly blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern technological prowess.
According to Chen, the name “Xia Lan” derives from “Digital” and “Huaxia,” symbolizing the fusion of technology and culture. Xia Lan features advanced bionic facial materials, equipped with 29 active and multiple passive degrees of freedom, enabling her to express complex emotions such as joy, sadness, surprise, and anger with high precision.
“She can blink, speak, and even exhibit nuanced facial expressions—achieving a level of realism that is leading among domestic counterparts,” Chen proudly explained. “It’s not just about looking human—it’s about feeling human. We place great emphasis on building a coherent character and deeply emotional response system.”

Technological Core: A Warmth-Centric System
Discussing the technology behind Xia Lan, Chen highlighted its core: an emotional recognition and interaction system powered by large language models. This system can analyze a user’s tone, semantic content, and facial expressions in real-time to assess emotional states and respond with empathetic gestures, comforting words, and appropriate facial feedback.
“For instance, if you’re tired or feeling down, she can recognize these cues and respond with a soft voice or a reassuring smile—offering a truly empathetic interaction,” Chen noted. “It’s not just about algorithms—it’s about simulating genuine human care.”
Xia Lan’s second layer of warmth lies in her approachable design and bionic features. “Compared to cold metal shells or digital screens, her expressive face and interactive abilities make her feel more relatable and trustworthy,” said Chen. This human-centered design makes her especially suitable for applications that demand high-quality interactions, such as education, companionship, and cultural experiences.
Beyond Expectations: From Stage Performances to Folk Song Duets
Xia Lan's capabilities extend far beyond traditional use cases. She has participated in educational workshops, interacted with children, accompanied seniors in care homes, performed on stage, engaged in cultural tourism events, and even participated in public outreach campaigns.
“Recently, she co-starred in a children’s play at Shenzhen Book City and joined the ‘San Yue San’ cultural festival in Guangxi, where she sang in a folk duet with a local performer,” Chen shared. “Her performance and interactions were met with great enthusiasm—she’s becoming more than just a robot. She’s a public figure with warmth and cultural depth.”
These innovative applications position Xia Lan as a potential cultural IP, driving the integration of technology and culture to new heights.
Coming Soon: “Star Wanderer”—Digit Huaxia’s Next Cultural-Tech IP
Looking ahead, Chen revealed that the company’s next key product will be a new cultural-tech IP robot series—“Star Wanderer”—slated for release by the end of April.
“Star Wanderer adopts a split-body dual-wheel design with a dynamic form and vibrant colors. It continues our exploration of emotional interaction and cultural symbolism in humanoid robots,” she explained. “This model will focus on commercial applications, helping us create a closed-loop between technology, culture, and market demand.”
As for future plans, Chen added, “In the next three to five years, our goal is to become a leading company in humanoid interaction robotics in China—providing emotionally intelligent companions that fit naturally into people's everyday lives.”

Conclusion: When Technology Meets Humanity, Robots Begin to Understand Us
In the era of rapidly advancing AI and large language models, robots are no longer seen as mere mechanical tools. They are expected to "understand us like a fellow human." Digit Huaxia’s decision to focus on emotion—the most human aspect of intelligence—not only reflects a deep understanding of human-machine relationships, but also highlights the rising strength of China’s humanoid robotics industry on the global stage.
Fair Plus 2025 showcased the bright future of China’s robotics sector, and with emotionally intelligent creations like Xia Lan and Star Wanderer, humanoid robots are poised to enter households and help shape a more compassionate, intelligent society.
