TechRobot Aims to Lead with Linear Joint Modules as Humanoid Robotics Heats Up

At the Fair Plus 2025 exhibition held in April 2025 at the Shenzhen Futian Convention and Exhibition Center, Lei Dongli, Assistant General Manager of Shenzhen Tech Robot Co., Ltd., shared the company’s strategic vision in an exclusive interview with Chen Lu, Editor-in-Chief of China Exportaemi. She emphasized that as the humanoid robotics sector enters a critical period of rapid development, Tech Robot is leveraging its self-developed linear joint modules to build a comprehensive portfolio of “joint-level” products and application solutions, aiming to become a key technology provider in China's humanoid robot industrialization process.

I.                 Over a Decade of Expertise: Mastering "Joint-Level" Core Technologies

TechRobot Robotics, headquartered in Shenzhen, is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in R&D and system integration of high-performance robotic core components. As early as 2016 when collaborative robots first gained traction, the company began developing self-designed joint modules and collaborative robotic arms, systematically accumulating deep expertise in system-level control, lightweight structural design, and integrated servo drive-control systems.

"Since expanding our production line in 2016, we’ve developed numerous joint module products for collaborative robots. In 2023, we officially initiated R&D for humanoid robot joint modules, launching modular solutions for arms, legs, waist, and head applications. Our client base now exceeds 100 companies," explained Lei Dongli. Currently, TechRobot’s products are widely deployed across humanoid robotics, industrial automation, medical equipment, power systems, and scientific research/education sectors.

II.                Diversified Product Lines: Dual Focus on Force Control + Linear Solutions

At Fair Plus 2025, TechRobot showcased multiple core components tailored for humanoid robot applications, including:

  • Linear joint modules

  • Force-controlled rotary joint modules

  • Lightweight rotary modules

  • Two customized robotic arm systems

"Our linear joint modules are this exhibition’s flagship products. Such modules remain relatively scarce domestically, yet they’re ideal for humanoid robots’ limbs—where high thrust and stability are critical," noted Lei. TechRobot’s linear modules employ a motor-driven conversion mechanism to generate linear thrust, delivering up to 8,000N maximum force and 400mm/s speed. When replacing traditional rotary joints in key areas, they significantly enhance motion reliability and disturbance resistance.

Beyond linear modules, TechRobot exhibited two robotic arms with differing payload capacities:

A lightweight design with  <3kg single-arm payload

An industrial-grade arm supporting 5kg payload per joint, featuring brakes for material handling or complex interactive scenarios—demonstrating broad industry adaptability.

Ⅲ.                 Differentiation Strategy: Linear Joints for Limb-Critical Applications

Compared to mainstream rotary joint modules, TechRobot’s linear module approach represents a technologically barrier-laden yet premium-aligned path for humanoid robotics. "Linear joints are biomechanically superior to rotary joints for humanoid limbs. Though technically challenging initially, achieving stable structures and reliable supply chains could position us as future standardization leaders," Lei asserted.

She added that linear modules’ high-load capacity and stability excel in tasks like wide-stride locomotion, flexion/extension, or stabilized standing—making them foundational "skeletal-level" components for precision control and load-bearing efficiency.

Ⅳ.                Autonomous Supply Chain: >90% Localization Rate

Beyond technical differentiation, TechRobot’s supply chain localization is a strategic asset. "Over 90% of our suppliers are top-tier domestic partners with long-term collaborations, ensuring source-level quality control," Lei emphasized. Amid global supply chain uncertainties, this domestic self-sufficiency lays the groundwork for scalable manufacturing and cost optimization.

This approach not only elevates product yield and reliability but also aligns with national policies promoting core component localization.

Ⅴ.              Application-Centric Deployment: Cross-Industry Client Base

"Real-world performance is our priority," Lei stated when describing clients. TechRobot’s joint modules primarily serve logistics, industrial manufacturing, and healthcare sectors. For instance:

  • Humanoid arms adapt seamlessly to sorting/transport tasks

  • Lightweight collaborative arms enable delicate operations in      rehabilitation/assistive robotics

Notably, a humanoid robotics innovation center—one of TechRobot’s key clients—featured the company’s arm/leg drive systems in their exhibition prototype, becoming a show highlight.

Ⅵ. Global Expansion: Strategic Overseas Outreach

Alongside domestic growth, TechRobot is methodically expanding internationally. Lei revealed ongoing negotiations with overseas embodied AI clients and solution providers. Future plans include customized joint modules and humanoid solutions for Europe markets, plus co-development models with foreign integrators.

"Globalization is integral to our strategy. Our products are export-ready; next steps involve aligning with Europe technical standards and exploring partnerships."

VII. Conclusion: Joint Tech as the Next Breakthrough Frontier

As large models, bionic control algorithms, and it engineering converge, humanoid robots approach commercialization—with joint modules emerging as the critical actuators bridging "brain-body-perception."

TechRobot’s linear module focus carves a differentiated path amid rotary-dominated markets, addressing China’s high-load precision control gaps while advancing "joint-level" industry capabilities. Its localized supply chain and application versatility further strengthen its global competitiveness.

As humanoid commercialization accelerates, mastery over "skeletal" technologies will define future standard-setters. TechRobot—progressing via an unconventional yet strategic roadmap—is steadily advancing toward this vision.
